UPDATE:  Angus has been adopted by one of our very special previous homes. Angus will enjoy his canine sisters and also be able to accompany his new owners 'to the office' while he aclimes to his new life.  What a lucky boy.

Yes, we love and help the seniors.  Angus was dropped off at his vet on the 26th while his elderly owner underwent surgery.  Neither knew this would be goodbye.  NWATR received a call on the 29th with a plea for assistance for Angus.  Having just turned 12 on October 24 and even though Angus is lively and healthy, the fear was that there would be no help for a senior boy.  Every volunteer and home who has stepped forward to give a few years of love to a senior has come back to say what a special and wonderful experience it was to give back to this wonderful breed.  The senior Airedale pays you back tenfold with big thank you's every day and with helping you to slow down a bit and enjoy the beauty each day has to offer.  Angus is currently in a foster home in the Bothell area of Washington.  He is doing very well with his two new Airedale pals.  Angus ignores cats and loves to be loved.  He has a spring to his step and is enjoying walks; something he probably has not had the benefit of for quite some time; and actually does very well on lead.  Because it had been a long time since being groomed, his grooming this week took all of those endearing curls and furnishings off along with his Airedale beard.  He will look much more Airedaley here in a few short weeks.  Angus was with his elderly dad since puppy hood and has also enjoyed being with just one vet during his first 11 years. His entire vet history will accompany Angus to his new home.  He will never need another vaccination and is microchipped.  Angus is known by many in his previous neighborhood as that goofy Airedale who was free to visit the neighbors.  He knew how to open a few of their doors too in order to pop in and say hello!  Please let us know if you are interested in this special boy.  Be sure you have an application in with us at www.nwairedalerescue.org and do give Jann Rogers a call at 206 240 2211 or email at jannrogers@nwairedalerescue.org  for more information.
