(Rescue Note: Cassie came to us in early May, 2013, with a severe nonrepairable hip condition and extremely overweight at 94lbs.  Our AireAngel home in the Madison Park area of Seattle adopted Cassie and is making wonderful strides in her comfort level and happiness in life as noted in the following update.)  September, 2013 Update "Just a quick update. Cassie is now at 72 lbs. and the vet says she's at her target weight, time to level her off.  Yea!  She is still doing water therapy.
She is no longer taking Novox and we are cutting back her acupuncture to every
other week. She has also built quite a bit of muscle. She now runs and plays and seems very happy. She is a joy to have in our lives. "      August, 2013 Update  "Here is a picture of Cassie, just out of the pool and feeling tired but happy!  She now weighs 76 pounds.  Dr. Endicott is keeping a close eye on her and says we are very close to her target weight.  She has had several acupuncture sessions and is now down to just a 1/2 pill of Novox a day.  She had her first swim this morning at Splashdog.  They were very good with her and she did well for her first time.  We are going to take her once a week for the next 5 weeks and are hopeful that this will do her a lot of good.  We are also going to the park this week with Katie Morrell to work on good walking manners (she gets very excited and out of control when there are other dogs--she would love to play with them all!   Hope all is well with  Lexi.  I think Cassie likely misses her sister but she seems very happy and adjusted."
