“We had the pleasure at the end of July to be put in contact with Becky who was fostering Shaggy for NW Airedale Rescue. She gave us a lot of information about him and pictures and even drove him across the border to facilitate the adoption. We adopted Shaggy on September long weekend of 2010. We met with the foster parents in Lethbridge at a dog park so the dogs could meet and make sure we all were getting along. Shaggy was very calm when we first met him and our dog was fine with him but not overly excited. The drive home went very well, both dogs had their window and seemed to be fine with each other. We took Shaggy in the house and toured him around on leash (inside and out) so he would get use to the area. The very exciting part for us was when we took the leash off, we were in the living room and Roxie our younger Airedale got so excited, almost as if she knew. She started prancing in front of him, running around and you could tell it was love at first site! Ever since, they’ve been best buddies and just enjoy each others company so much. Everyone always comments on how happy Shaggy looks, his tail starts wagging anytime you say his name! Roxie is 4 and Shaggy 8 but they are a match made in heaven! I am very happy we managed to rescue Shaggy, the experience as been so amazing and rewarding. Thank you NW Airedale for allowing us to bring Shaggy to Canada, we will forever be thankful!”
